2018 UFCW Local 653 Educational Grant Application

Ten $1,000 educational grants to our members or their dependents to further their education will be awarded in July. The winners will receive a one-time educational grant to be applied to the verified school for tuition, books, or room and board. The only qualification is that the student will be attending a college, university, junior college, or technical school. The ten winners will be randomly drawn at the July Executive Board meeting from the applications submitted, and winners will be notified in writing after the drawing has taken place. Applications for the UFCW Local 653 Educational Grant Application are due in the union office by June 28, 2018

The 2018 UFCW Local 653 Educational Grant Applications will be available to download on the website beginning April 1 and are available now in the April Fact Finder.

UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarship Program
Every year the UFCW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM offers scholarships to UFCW members or their immediate family members who want to further their education and demonstrate a commitment to their communities and to UFCW values. Since 1958, the fund has distributed more than $2 million in scholarships. Past winners have gone on to make significant contributions to society and to the UFCW – entering a range of fields including public service, medicine, law, business, and teaching. Many have returned to the UFCW as staffers, organizers, and community activists who contribute to our mission.

The UFCW Charity Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for 2018. All applications will be due by May 13, 2018.Please email cfscholarship@ufcw.org with questions.

Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarships:

Each year, scholarships ranging from up to $1,200 for part-time and up to $2,500 for full-time are given to students enrolled in community or technical college, along with undergraduate and graduate programs. Students are eligible for consideration for up to two years for a community or technical college program, up to four years of undergraduate work at a university (including two years in a

community or technical college), and up to two years of graduate work. Complete application packets must be postmarked by June 1, 2018.
